I haven’t done a shoot professionally since before Christmas. SO much so that I had forgotten where in the house I had put my mobile studio equipment.

But I found it and then I discovered the Battery was flat on my Olympus E3, so then I thought about using the Lecia M9 but thought I am to tired and I want a photo of the kids NOW, not in 30 minutes RIGHT NOW

So I used my Canon s90 which by the way is a fab point and shoot.

And here we have two slightly edited pictures, only the tones have been changed actually. Nothing else I didn’t even sharpen them.

I was mainly trying to get shots of Eliza to give to Family in preparation for her 4th Birthday. She was very willing, but wouldn’t stop making faces so I said we’d leave it, but I did get the above and I LOVE it.

Of course Master Jeremiah wanted in on the action. He has terrible excema around his mouth right now, which amazingly (perhaps due to the lighting) is almost unnoticeable here.

So considering I didn’t even use a “professional camera” and the fact this was the only shot I took of Jerry I am pretty pleased.

Now I have to pack away the studio stuff before the children pull it over and maim themselves of course blogging about my pictures was much more important than the potential danger my children could inflict upon themselves.

My husband has never been to Greenwich park so we decided with his week off work we’d go, it was quite bracing out. But the sun was shining the birds were tweeting and I had a HUGE urge to do some photography.

No one will notice me with this

Lucky for me/us we both love photography. So we both look like a couple of tourists where ever we go, although I tend to look a little more paparazzi with the huge lens.

Still I have to look a bit dicky to get what I want

She looks like she’s doing a hair advert here, Eliza is very over me taking her photograph, most pictures I get of her are sneaky, or of her back.

Eliza is one of the most lazy children you’ll ever meet, she would still be in a stroller if we let her, she likes to rest as much as possible and complains after walking 100 yards.

Jerry would walk around the world twice if he could.

No matter where she is, he's right behind her

And I hope they are always there for each other…

Love you

We’re big on hugging in this family & photography.

UK Snow

So yes we got snow. And still 4 days on there is thick ice on the roads. The snowman is falling apart, I think being mauled by a fox hasn’t helped the poor fellow. So I assume this is global warming, I am blaming that while I freeze my tits off taking the compost out, and desperately try not to write my car off in the driveway.

I need not say much more photo’s pretty self explanatory

So Proud

My private ice rink

My stunning children

I think today will see it melting. I don’t mind the snow, I do mind the ice. I’ve been stuck inside for 4 days the kids hate the cold, so play outside for about 10 minutes then cry like they are naked and rolling in it and beg to come back in.

oh I forgot this picture

He was right next to the snowman, as you saw above he returned to kill the intruder, he was back this morning at our backdoor and then sat on the fence looking at Eliza. Where’s my horse and gun….I jest it’s pretty cool having a fox visit.

Who here likes Anne Geddes? I love her in a totally sister kinda way 🙂 I love everything about her work.

While out shopping the other day we decided to treat the kids to a toy. I saw a cute little butterfly doll on the shelf and raced around to the next aisle to my husband and scream OMGHAVEYOUSEENTHISELIZAWILLLOVEIT…….. And he said “there is a whole shelf of them HAY_UGE mistake telling me that. I raced back around to discover yes there was a shelf of them 4 different types. He said “buy them all” and I said “OK that’s just daft” and we bought two, I’m highly tempted to go back to the shop.

My son was sleeping the other day, I took this opportunity to spend it with Eliza and do some photography. We both came up with the compositions with the dolls and we snapped away. OK so it would be better if they were real babies, but Anne Geddes has already done this. I find this with art. It’s great to get ideas and follow, but you need to find your own style and creativeness. I didn’t here, but I do with a lot of my photography maybe that’s why I am not getting any work?

Whatever we had fun!

baby2Look the Holly tree is getting all Christmassy and red berries ohh it makes me excited for Christmas!

We finally got our act together this past weekend & set the study up, it’s yet to be completed. I’ve been so tired since Sunday, the effort of emptying yet more boxes, taking shit up to the attic took it out of me.

But my work computer is all set up, I have all my photography goodies on here, I had some on the lap top but all my folders etc are on here! So without further ado, I dug out my Olympus E3 manual because I am a forgetful type & lazy so i think it’s good to refresh the grey matter. I also love to just sit & play with my camera find out what works what doesn’t the more one does this the more your hit rate of good pictures will occur.

Silly girl

Silly girl

Here is my charming daughter acting up for the camera, no more serious or nice pictures no saying “smile” or “Sit still” is never going to work & when I’m working  never say these words because kids are kids on their own time in their own place so I think we should capture that.

I give you my Son who see’s the camera coming out & demands “ME ME ME ME ME” jblogHe was in serious mid laughter here, you see the thing is I’m actually quite funny & can make kids & sometimes adults laugh it’s a true story ask anyone, want a belly laugh I’ll give you one.

I recently downloaded some free framing actions for photoshop I use CS4 but I would assume they work in all versions. love it, I’ve tweaked them for my own personal tastes.

I really enjoy photography, I am so glad I learned the way I did using film first. I’m so glad I can look through glorious Ansell Adams books & learn & be inspired.

I’m going out later mainly to see how many paparazzi are outside Madonna’s home. I live the next street away from her in London, she’s never there really. I am so going to miss seeing all the famous people in this area, it’s a treat to see all the famous faces around here. I love fame can you tell. 😛

Until then I have to photograph my own bambinos.

I’m hoping to really start up some work once I move out to the burbs depending on Unal’s job situation and other life events, IE we want more babies.

anyhoo the new CS4 and lightroom are rocking my socks, which is amazing as I am a bare foot hippy most of the time.

Unal managed to delete over 5000 images of mine today I’m thrilled as you can imagine, never mind I have them saved in lightroom AMAZINGLY he didn’t delete the ones of Eliza’s birth, if he had of there he would be a candidate for the pain Olympics, hey if you have never heard of pain Olympics look it up when your kids have gone to bed and have a bucket close by. SHOCKING

Honestly my kids get on so well but trying to get a shot of them together is a Olympic sport honestly it’s a F’ing nightmare!!!

I could only get one kid in focus!!!

I am having a shocking time there’s no question what with moving house, having a teething toddler and a 3 year old and a husband who is out of work and studying his brains out, I am almost losing the will to live.

Until one morning Unal said he had bought me CS4 and the new lightroom this was about 4 days ago. I’ve just had time to sit down and take some pictures and play with them. I took them last week. So far, due to baking a cake and playing board games with Eliza I have played with one picture! WHOO go me…!

wondering what working out in the burbs will be like?
